Engine Choices in the 2024 Ram 1500

The Ram 1500 performance features include three engine options, all connected to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The first is a 3.6-liter V6 with 305 horsepower. The second is the 5.7L HEMI V8 with 395 horsepower. Ram also offers the supercharged 6.2L HEMI V8 engine with 702 horsepower, and it’s only available in the Ram 1500 TRX.

The 3.6-liter V6 and 5.7-liter V8 are satisfying engines with plenty of horsepower and torque. Drivers who choose a Ram 1500 with a 5.7-liter V8 engine, rear-wheel drive, a Quad Cab long bed, and the Max Tow package can tow up to 12,750 pounds. The V6 engine tows up to 7,690 pounds, while the 5.7-liter HEMI tows between 7,800 and 11,500 pounds.

The maximum payload capacity is 2,300 pounds – which is only available in the Tradesman trim with rear-wheel drive, a long box, and a Quad Cab.

Innovative Technology in the Cabin

The Ram 1500 has several trims that begin with the Tradesman work truck, but most drivers choose the Big Horn or better trims. The Big Horn comes standard with cloth seats and a 60/40 split-folding rear seat.
